Branches, trimmings, leaves and storm debris collected as a clean green load, which reaches a composting operation rather than a landfill cell.
Green material has its own disposal route and its own price, but only while the load stays genuinely clean. Branches, brush, hedge trimmings, leaves, grass and untreated woody material all qualify. The whole load travels to a composting or grinding operation, which is both the cheaper outcome and the better one.
The contaminants that break it are predictable and they are almost always accidental. Plastic plant pots, the sacks the trimmings were carried in, large quantities of soil, treated or painted timber and anything from the household bin all reclassify the container as mixed. One bag is enough. Keeping a separate pile for the non green material while you work is the entire technique.
Green material is light when it is fresh and considerably heavier a week later, which is why yard waste quotes go wrong more often than any other category. Leaves, grass clippings and soil are all absorbent, and an open container standing through a wet spell takes on a genuinely surprising amount of water weight.
Covering the load between working sessions is the cheapest control available. A tarp and four bungee cords routinely save more than they cost on a green container in Crookston, MN, and the effect is largest exactly when it matters most, which is on a load that was already close to its allowance. Booking a shorter period and clearing decisively also helps, because the material has less time to sit.
Storm clearance does not arrive on a schedule and it tends to produce a great deal of material very quickly. Limbs, whole trees and fence sections all go into a green container provided the fencing is untreated, and dispatch will fit an unplanned delivery into live routing wherever a slot exists on the day.
Autumn is the predictable version of the same pattern. Leaf fall, end of season cutbacks and deferred pruning arrive across Crookston, MN in the same few weeks, and green containers tighten accordingly. Spring produces a second surge as gardens are restored. Booking two or three weeks ahead of either peak is the difference between the date you wanted and whatever is left.
Brush and trimmings occupy far more space than their weight suggests, so green jobs are usually volume limited rather than weight limited. A hedge reduction on a typical suburban plot commonly fills a ten to fifteen yard container. A full garden restoration involving shrub removal and small tree work runs closer to twenty.
Cutting material down as you load recovers a remarkable amount of that volume, because uncut branches create voids that nothing else can fill. Where the job also produces a patio, path or old bedding soil, running a separate inert container alongside the green one keeps both loads clean and usually costs less than putting everything into a single mixed box.
Step up in capacity when the volume proves larger than the first estimate suggested.
10 Yard Dumpster RentalA different material profile entirely, and a common second container on the same job.
40 Yard Dumpster RentalWhere access rather than volume becomes the deciding constraint on the placement.
Driveway Dumpster RentalThe separated stream option that reaches a cheaper gate when the load stays clean.
Junk Removal Dumpster RentalScheduling and period differences worth checking before the booking is confirmed.
Moving Dumpster RentalIn small quantities attached to roots it is tolerated, but large amounts of soil reclassify the load. Bulk soil belongs in a dedicated inert container, where it is priced as heavy material and routed accordingly.
Treated, painted or laminated timber is rejected from the composting stream. It can go in a general or mixed construction container instead, which is the right destination for it.
It is worth doing. Uncut limbs create voids that cannot be filled, and cutting material as you load frequently saves a full container size on a hedge or tree job.
Two to three weeks ahead. Leaf fall and end of season cutbacks arrive across the area simultaneously, and the smaller green containers are the first to tighten up.
Describe the planting, the quantity and whether any hard landscaping is coming out. We will size the green container and tell you whether a second box for rubble is worth running alongside it.
